Personal History

He was born in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia.


Professional History

Walter B. Gibson is the creator of The Shadow. He wrote over 200 novels and stories featuring the character. Many of of them have been adapted for radio programs and various comic book adaptations including DC's very own series.

Though he is better known as a "pulp" magazine writer, and not really employed as a comic writer, his last completed work was "The Batman Encounters - Gray Face," and can be read in Detective Comics #500.
