Sergio Zaniboni (Turin, August 4, 1937) is an Italian comics artist.

He is one of the most important creators in Italian comics and one of the most respected artists that have worked on the Diabolik series.

Biography

Ex-radio technician, he started working in comics in 1967, after having been a technical draughtsman, graphic artist (the historic Panini stickers logo was created by him) and illustrator. His first comics work was the adaptation of The Three Musketeers drawn for the publisher of Alè Toro, but was never published. After drawing the I promessi sposi (The Betrothed) adaptation for Gino Sansoni (husband of Angela Giussani), he starts working on the Horror magazine. In 1969 he becomes a member of the Diabolik art staff, debuting the the episode Delitto su commissione (Crime on Commission). Since then he has pencilled over 300 adventures, and is currently still drawing for the series.

He collaborated, starting 1972, on Il Giornalino which featured his art on the boxing series Il campione (The Champion), scripted by Alberto Ongaro, and on a crime series Tenente Marlo (Lieutenant Marlo), scripted by Claudio Nizzi. In the Orient Express magazine he drew I Reporters (The Reporters), this scripted by Giancarlo Malagutti.
