Synopsis for "The Professional Baseball Player"Edit

While stopping in a small town, Lois Lane and Clark Kent discover a young baseball player named Stan Doborak. Clark convinces Stan to go to Florida and try-out for the Metropolis Ravens. When Stan arrives, he is not given an opportunity to try-out because Clark has angered the Ravens’ manager. Superman intervenes and gets Stan his try-out, where he succeeds, making the team.

Once he becomes a star pitcher, Stan is influenced by his girlfriend Mabel, who secretly works with a gambling racket. Superman exposes Mabel and her boss Mike Caputo, and Stan returns to his pitching career without further criminal interference.

Synopsis for "The Man Who Came Back"Edit

Politician Jerry Harms is threatened by Spud Corliss and his gang. Harms agrees not to send police after the gangster. Corliss and his gang are then free to operate openly, leading to death and mayhem. Harms regrets his decision and agrees to testify against Corliss, though it will cost him his political career. The gangster then sends a bomb to silence Harms.

Harms escapes the blast and assumes a new identity. However, Vigilante deduces that Harms is still alive. Corliss has kidnapped Stuff, so the Vigilante makes Harms cooperate. Vigilante is able to locate Corliss and his gang. Harms helps, but he is shot. Vigilante rescues Stuff and together they defeat Corliss. Harms survives and is pardoned for his crimes after showing heroism to make things right.
