Synopsis for "Blind Justice"Edit
A blind man takes the case of a man accused of murdering his wife. His client doesn't tell everything that he knows in court because his wife made him promise in a diary not to reveal to anyone that she has been impregnated by a space alien before she killed herself. The blind lawyer figures this out and gets a not guilty verdict from the jury because, even though the man has torn out the pages of the diary which reveal his wife's gruesome fate, the lawyer's fingers can sense the impressions of the words on the page underneath.

Synopsis for "The Night Willa Jane Gornley Went Home"Edit
A deformed girl is adopted by an old couple and when the father brings her some pulp magazines she gets the idea into her head she is of an alien species and her parents will come for her if she just waits long enough upon the hilltop at night. The mother has a stroke and is buried. The father's eyesight is failing so he tells her the state will have to put her into an institution the following day. That night, she stays longer in the cold November air until she gives up hope any will come for her. A spaceship descends and she is overjoyed at the prospect of returning home. It turns out who emerges from the spaceship is Death and he carries her in his arms as they ascend into the heavens, leaving her corpse lying on the hilltop grass.
