The Bulldaggers
From Hey Kids Comics
The Bulldaggers are an insect rock band who appear in the comic books of Matt Howarth. Most members of the band have the inherent ability to move between alternate universes, which make for literally outlandish tour schedules, and add to the mystique of their status as fictional characters. This mystique is further enhanced by their "collaborations" with real musicians (especially the engimatic Residents and Nash The Slash), and by real music published under the names of fictional band members. Their music is supposedly published by Frequency One Records, who currently do not have a non-fictional distributor—however, albums by Bulldagger members Sir Ronald Post and Monsieur Boche are available via mail order from Matt Howarth.
The core members are:
- Monsieur Boche - synthesizers
- Savage Henry - guitar, naîvete
- Caroline - alien woodwinds
- The Unseen Girl - taped vocal effects
- C'Thulu - synthesizers
- Conrad Schnitzler - synthesizers
Frequent collaborators with the Bulldaggers include:
- Ron Post - casio keyboard, explosives/percussion, sampled noises
- other Caroline clones - various
- Nash The Slash - Canadian rock-n-roll violinist
- The Residents - eldritch sonics
People who were once Bulldaggers, include:
- Poker-eyes - bass (left to pursue a solo career, formed all-bass band "Screaming Metal")
- Hiroshima - bass and pyrotechnics (was a core member, split up with the band after ascending to goddesshood in 1982; renowned for hostility between her and the band)
- Roger B - violin
- Bobby "Citizen" Neuwave - synth (went on to form another band, "The Green Space")
- Joel Klown - vocals
- Plex - explosives, percussion
- Pastercheck Whitney - bass, vocals
- Ra Ra Bogie - feedback
- Andrew Weiss - bass (may be the same Andrew Weiss who played with Rollins Band)
